The Minnesota Media Hub is where storytelling meets workforce development. Based in the Twin Cities, the hub empowers youth and community members through digital media production, creative technology, and storytelling, while building the skills that lead to real employment opportunities.
Participants learn the full arc of digital media production: planning, shooting, editing, publishing, and distributing content. They work with cameras, audio equipment, editing software, and digital platforms, gaining hands on experience that translates directly into creative and technical roles. The hub treats every project as both a creative endeavor and a workforce training opportunity.
Workforce development is built into the hub's DNA. Digital media skills are in demand across industries, marketing, communications, content creation, education, nonprofit work, and small business. By combining creative training with workforce readiness, resume building, portfolio development, professional communication, the hub helps participants see a clear line from storytelling to employment.
Community partnerships amplify the hub's impact. IFI collaborates with local organizations, schools, and businesses to connect participants with internships, projects, and real world opportunities. These partnerships ensure that the skills learned in the hub are connected to the needs of the community and the local economy.
The Minnesota Media Hub is part of IFI's broader media ecosystem, connected to the Jeshwang Media Hub in The Gambia and the Global Creator Exchange. Through these connections, Minnesota participants collaborate with creators across borders, sharing stories, building cultural understanding, and expanding their sense of what is possible.
